St Barthelemy travel story of T&T. Weekend in heaven...
On Saturday of June 08 we took a very small plan from Grand-Case airport to the amazing Island St. Barthelemy (known as St. Barths).
St. Barth (also known as St. Barthelemy or St. Barth's)
is one of the more exclusive islands of the Caribbean, a
popular relaxing vacation spot of many movie celebrities
and rock stars.
The landscape is characterized by green rolling hills (highest
top: 938 ft, Morne du Vitet), and 22 fabulous beaches, some
only accessible by foot.
We spent at our St Barthelemy travel weekend at the Guanahani hotel and spa. Magical luxury hotel, located on the north east side of the island. The Hotel is set on its own 16 acres private peninsula in the heart of a tropical garden. 15-minute drive from the airport of St Barthélemy.(Press here to read more about Guanahani hotel and spa)

The Island is only eight square miles small, housing around 6,500 people!! Really small and beautiful...
During our St Barthelemy travel We rented a small car and toured the island. We were fortunate
enough to see the whole Island within 2 days of being there. We did a simillar trip before, but this time we enjoyed the unique experience almost a year after... Alot has changed. There were new restaurants, new beaches (because of natural swells and weather changes). The Island is literally
located on mountains and driving around makes you feel like the train in a kids adventures park, when the roads took you up and down...
The Island gives you a special feeling, very free, very safe, very elegant and charming. Everything is very colourfull, glamour and special.
There are great beaches and spots for surfing at St. Barth. Surfing can be practised in quite a number of bays at the
Island, but only a few of them are shaped to produce the
beautiful rolling waves with a crest of foam that the young
copper-skinned, straw-haired surfers prefer: Toiny, Lorient,
Anse des Cayes and Saint-Jean.
You can see here some amazing surf photos taken by Pierre Carreau
There are no casinos on the Island, but the nightlife is
huge and there are very popular places which always packed
with people, such aBar de l'Oubli and Le Select bar.
At night we went to a local bar. Very fasionate, very trendy and young. There was house music, great food and lots of drinks...We had a very good time!
