Leave a message nike movie

by Nike 6.0

In 1991 Taylor Steele released "Momentum." The landmark movie ushered in the New School movement, and gave the likes of Kelly Slater, Shane Dorian and Rob Machado a launching pad. With its tail slides, above-the-lip antics and jump-cut edits the film changed surfing as we see it today.

In 2011 Nike 6.0 will drop "Leave A Message," and women's surfing will surely never be the same. Featuring Carissa Moore, Coco Ho, Laura Enever and a handful of other ladies, if progressive surfing's glass ceiling already a thousand cracks in it, it's about to be shattered completely. Tubes, turns or airs, these young women hands down out-surf 99 percent of the men on this planet.

"The goal was to make the best women's surf movie ever," says Nike 6.0 team manager Jason Kenworthy, who is also a contributor to this site. "We spent the last two years taking trips all over the world, and I'm confident that when it's all done we'll have accomplished our goal. What these girls are doing in the water -- let's put it like this -- it's never been done before."

The trailer for "Leave A Message" dropped this week, and a premier date is set to coincide with the upcoming ASP Prime Nike 6.0 Lowers Pro, held May 3-7 at Trestles, Calif. We'll be taking a deeper look at this project as the premier date comes to bear.
